Bousillage

A clip demonstrating the making of a bousillage wall, at Prairie des Femmes, LA, in the spring of 2007. Bousillage is a mixture of clay and grass and/or other fiberous substance. It is the name of one of the components of a style of construction that uses vertical logs enclosed or filled by the aforementioned mixture. This style was commonly used by 18th century French colonial settlers in the Americas.
