Louisiana Indians Walking Along Bayou
Drawing from his fascination with Native Americans discovered during his two-year stay in Louisiana, French painter Alfred Boisseau debuted "Louisiana Indians Walking along Bayou" (oil on canvas, 24 x 40 inches) in 1847 at the Salon in Paris, whose art scene remained intrigued with Native Americans since George Caitlin's "Indian Gallery" exhibited in the city in 1845.
