Portrait of William Charles Cole Claiborne
In 1805, French artist Ambrose Duval painted this oil miniature portrait of William Charles Cole Claiborne, first governor of the Louisiana Territory after the Louisiana Purchase. Painted in the French style, the miniature measures 3 x 2.5 x 3/8 inches.
