Two Chitimacha Single Weave Baskets
From the early eighteenth century, Chitimacha basketry was highly prized for its quality and complex designs. The Darden family, in St. Mary Parish, is the standard-bearer for Chitimacha basketry, as seen in "Two Chitimacha Single Weave Baskets."
