Louisiana Baby Bond
This 1879 Louisiana five-dollar "Baby Bond" bears the signature of state treasurer E. A. Burke. After Burke left office—and the United States—in 1888, he was indicted on irregularities in the state treasury related to these bonds. Burke never returned to answer the charges in court.
