Ham Richardson
"Ham" Richardson (right), the third-seeded American player at the National Tennis Championship at Forest Hills in 1954, is photographed chatting with his scientist-father, Dr. R.W. Richardson, during a practice session. Since childhood, Ham RIchardson had been fighting diabites with the help of his father, who aided in building up the tennis pro's strength and playing ability.
