Tit Galop Pour Mamou

Fiddler and vocalist Dewey Balfa performs this ditty about a man who sold his mule for fifteen cents to buy some red candy for the kids, as well as some sugar and coffee for the old folks. He is accompanied by brothers Rodney on guitar and vocals, as well as Will, on fiddle. The song was recorded in Basile during the early seventies, as part of French filmmaker Jean-Pierre Bruneau’s documentary classic “Dedans Le Sud De La Louisiane.”
