Bishop Luis Ignacio Maria de Penalver y Cardenas
Commissioned by Charity Hospital, José Salazar painted this portrait of Bishop Luis Ignacio Maria de Peñalver y Cárdenas ca. 1801. In 1793, Cárdenas was appointed as the first bishop of the Diocese of Louisiana and the Floridas.
