Edgar Rice Burroughs

Edgar Rice Burrough created Tarzan as a character in a short story first published in the October 1912 edition of the pulp-fiction magazine, The All-Story. Tarzan was eventually adapted into a book and Burroughs would write 23 sequels based on his "Lord of the Jungle."
