Fragments of a handmade smoking pipe from St. Anthony's Garden
The presence of prehistoric shell-tempered ceramics at the Rising Sun Hotel archaeological site at 535 Conti Street in the French Quarter confirms Native American occupation of the area prior to French settlement.
