Francis T. Nicholls
Francis Nicholls had a storied career, from suffering grievous wounds as a Brigadier General in the Civil War to his appointment as President to the Board of Visitors for West Point Academy, and was twice elected governor of Louisiana. His service as a judge was honored by the passage of a bill establishing that justices of the Supreme Court who were over 75 years old could retire with full pay after fifteen years of service.
