General Alejandro O'Reilly
This painting shows General Alejandro O'Reilly, second governor of Louisiana under the Spanish flag, who earned the nickname “Bloody O'Reilly” by ordering the exile, imprisonment, and execution of rebel Frenchmen in Louisiana.
