George Lewis, Preservation Hall Jazz Band
Jazz clarinet pioneer George Lewis was a member of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, seen here on the cover of the 1967 record “Billie and DeDe and their Preservation Hall Jazz Band.” The band included, left to right: George Lewis (clarinet); DeDe Pierce (cornet); Billie Pierce (piano); Cie Frazer (drums); Louis Nelson (trombone); Narvin Kimball (banjo); and Chester Zardis (bass).
