Holly Beach
Win Henderson of FEMA made this photograph of Holly Beach, near the town of Cameron, on October 3, 2005, showing the destruction left by Hurricane Rita. This Gulfside community was once home to 300 residents. Hurricane Rita destroyed numerous structures and severely damaged utility systems along a long stretch of Highway 27 in lower Cameron Parish.
