Masked Horseback Riders
Masked costumed horsemen ride the Cajun countryside each Mardi Gras, stopping at farmhouses to call (in French) for ingredients to make the evening community gumbo. Nearly seventy five horsemen run the courir de Mardi Gras at Church Point, Mamou and other Cajun towns of southwest Louisiana.
