Negro Houses
Born into privilege and educated abroad, photographer Walker Evans forged his professional reputation documenting the poverty, unemployment and adverse living conditions in the Deep South during the 1930s. This photograph, from 1936, is titled "Negro Houses, Atlanta, Georgia."
