On the Gulf, Near Bay St. Louis
Norwegian William Henry Buck emigrated to the U.S. in the 1860s, and arrived in New Orleans around 1870, where he studied with master landscape painter Richard Clague, Jr. This oil painting, made in 1880, is titled "On the gulf, near Bay St. Louis.
