Outdoor Portrait of an Unidentified Coushatta Man

A Coushatta man poses in 1908, wearing a flowered shirt, beaded belt and shoulder sashes, appliqued leggings, metal armbands, and a headdress. The sash is now in the collection of the National Museum of the American Indian, and a color photo appears in the KnowLA entry “Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana.”
