Plain Mary Smith (Cover)
The cover of William T. Francis's composition “Plain Mary Smith” proclaims the song was “Sung with Great Success by Lydia Yeamans-Titus.” Pictured here in 1893, Yeamans-Titus came from a family of Australian performers who immigrated to the U.S. She went on to a career as a character actress in silent films during the 1910s.
