The Blessing of the Shrimp Fleet
Rural Louisiana life inspired Frances Folse to begin painting when she was 32 years old. In the 1949 painting “The Blessing of the Shrimp Fleet,” Folse depicts a beloved ritual in her native Lafourche Parish.
