Untitled IV
James Michalopoulos explains that when he first started capturing the architecture of New Orleans in paint, he often went on nighttime excursions to avoid the heat of day. He brought a radio and worked to the accompaniment of WWOZ, a station that broadcasts New Orleans music. Michalopoulos says, “I think of my style as being primarily musical. I’m very influenced by the culture I’m living in.”
