Governor Antonio de Ulloa
Andres Molinary painted this portrait of Antonio de Ulloa, first governor of Spanish Louisiana, c. 1910. Though Ulloa arrived in Louisiana in 1766, he did not immediately assert Spanish sovereignty, leading to the Insurrection of 1768.
