Louis M. Gottschalk
Louisiana-born composer and pianist Louis Moreau Gottschalk was photographed in the Washington, DC, studio of Matthew B. Brady, circa 1855 to 1865. Brady made portraits of many celebrities of the mid-nineteenth century, including fifteen US presidents, Frederick Douglass, Susan B. Anthony, and Edgar Allan Poe.
