Plantation
Influential artist John McCrady learned the multistage technique of layering oil transparencies over tempera underpainting, from the renowned Thomas Hart Benton, which he later used to imbue "Plantation" with an iconic presence. The work was displayed in frame hand-carved and painted by McGrady.
