The stairs in the foyer of Old Louisiana Governor's Mansion in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

The marble staircase in the Old Governor's Mansion sweeps upward from polished terrazzo floors. Historical records reveal that the plaster walls in the foyer were first painted to look like stone, but over time were covered with many layers of paint, then restored in 1999.
