Good'n Plenty. Humphries, Jacqueline (artist)
The daughter of New Orleans jewelry designer Mignon Faget, Jacqueline Humphries has forged her own internationally recognized career as a painter in New York City. After dropping out of Bennington College in 1979, Humphries studied at the Parsons School of Design in 1985 followed by the Whitney Museum’s independent-study program in 1986. Her large-scale paintings, often untitled, are rooted in both minimalism and abstract expressionism, with Hurricane Katrina informing works that were exhibited in New York City; London, England; and New Orleans.
